V Live

This app is extremely convenient for K-pop fans to use because it allows us to see what our idols are up to at any given time. I love this app because it allows me to keep track of what they’re up to, any upcoming events, new albums, and so much more. There is, however, one issue that all international fans face. While this app is fantastic in terms of functionality, one of the most significant issues is the subtitles. It’s quite frustrating for all the fans who live in the United States, or in any other state or country that is unfamiliar with Korean pop. If they’re doing a live broadcast, I suppose you can’t add subtitles, but when you post a video, we have no idea what they’re saying. Therefore, please update this app to include subtitles. It will facilitate communication with our idols.

I adore this application. It enables you to watch any video, play it on a television, and so on. And it features virtually every type of group imaginable. However, I haven’t received notifications for any of the lives recently. And the worst part is that I was awake when they went live but had no idea they were live. I already have notifications enabled and have previously received them, but it hasn’t been working recently. This is extremely disappointing, as I rarely have the opportunity to watch lives due to the time difference. I’m not sure if this is a glitch on my end, but I hope it is resolved. I recently updated the app, but this did not appear to resolve the issue. I’m hoping this is resolved.

Description

What is V Live?

V Live (stylized as VLIVE), formerly known as V App, is a South Korean live video streaming service that enables celebrities based in the country to stream live videos on the internet, including live chat sessions with fans, performances, reality shows, and award shows. The service is streamable via web browsers on Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as iOS and Android mobile applications. Naver Corporation owns the company, which launched in late August 2015.

Services and Aspects

V Live features over 1,450 channels dedicated to various K-pop artists, including BTS, Big Bang, Blackpink, Winner, iKon, Exo, Red Velvet, Got7, Gfriend, TXT, Ateez, Monsta X, BtoB, Astro, Apink, T-ara, NCT, Twice, Stray Kids, Iz*One, Infinite, Mamamoo, Rocket Punch, Golden Child, Enhypen, Oneus, Victon

It may broadcast a variety of programs, including live chats with fans, performances, reality shows, and awards shows.

It enables fans to interact with the website easily. Users are notified when a channel they subscribe to begins streaming live or uploads new content. Additionally, users can comment or send hearts on videos, which are visible to the idol or idols in real time. When the number of hearts reaches a certain value, special effects will appear on the screen. (For instance, congrats on reaching 100 million) Each interaction contributes to the “chemi-beat” of the user. The chemi-beat gauges a user’s affinity for a celebrity. Users can boost their chemi-beat by engaging with a channel on a consistent basis, turning on push notifications, and sharing videos. Possessing a high chemi-beat increases the likelihood of winning an idol-hosted event.

V Live Plus (Plus)

It is a paid content type that includes exclusive, downloadable, and fan-created content.

V Live+ content can be purchased with V coins, which are approximately 50 cents per US dollar, or redeemed using a code included with an external purchase, such as an album.

(Channel+) CH+ (Channel+)

Additionally, some idols offer CH+, a subscription-based premium channel. CH+ channels can be purchased for a 30-day, three-month, six-month, or yearly period using V coins. CH+ channels are distinguished from standard channels by the presence of hidden broadcasts, videos, and posts.

Real GOT7 and BTS: Bon Voyage are two reality shows that have aired exclusively on V Live CH+.

The CH+ channel also features behind-the-scenes footage from VLive-exclusive dramas. For instance, both Welcome to Heal Inn and We See Winter feature Fromis 9.

Awards

The platform hosts annual awards, colloquially dubbed the V Live Awards, to recognize the website’s most popular users and content. The Global Top 10 and Rookie Top 5 awards are given to the top ten most popular V Live channels, the latter of which is reserved for new artists. Additionally, online voting determines the recipients of additional popularity awards. Initially, each of the fifteen channels received the award via an individual broadcast; however, beginning in 2019, it began presenting the awards via a ceremony dubbed V Heartbeat.
