NordVPN costs $11.95 per month or $119 annually. Its annual plan is at a discounted rate of $59, but you’ll pay $119 when the subscription comes up for renewal. NordVPN sometimes offers other plans at different introductory rates. For example, you can currently snag an $89 two-year subscription that will revert to a $119 annual subscription when it comes up for renewal.

You can pay with credit cards, and various anonymous cryptocurrencies, and PayPal, as well as other online payment methods.

For your $11.95 per month, you can use up to six devices simultaneously on NordVPN. Most VPN services also limit you to five such connections.

NordVPN offers only one subscription add-on: static IP addresses for $5.83 per month ($69.96 per year). You can choose an address in France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, or the United States. A static IP address may help prevent your VPN connection from being blocked, especially if you connect to the same region consistently.

NordVPN also supports multihop connections, which it calls Double VPN. This routes your connection through a second VPN server instead of just one. That way, if one leg of the connection is somehow compromised, you can rest assured that your connection is still secure.

A new feature for NordVPN is split-tunneling. This lets you designate which apps route their traffic through the VPN connection and which travel in the clear.

NordVPN uses NordLynx (an implementation of WireGuard) by default in its Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows apps.

Description

What is a VPN?

A VPN can protect your web traffic from being spied on by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). And at the same time make it much harder for spies and advertisers to track you online.

NORD VPN

However, unlike most VPN services, Nord VPN gives you a bit of everything on top of that basic protection you needed. It has a large and diverse collection of servers, an impressive arsenal of rarely seen tools, as well as strong privacy and security practices. It also uses the latest WireGuard technology. Despite its high cost, it still impresses, and it earns our Editors’ Choice award.

VPN companies frequently offer promotions, so you may see a different price when you go to check out. This is why NordVPN was put on the pricey side.

Nord VPN company offers a discounted price upon your renewal, although it might be enticing to do so. We recommend against immediate long-term subscription. Instead, we suggest using a free version or a short-term subscription to test the VPN in your home environment. While all free VPNs have limitations, ProtonVPN is the only one we’ve tested that doesn’t limit the amount of data free subscribers can use. NordVPN has discontinued its free trial offering, stating that scammers were taking advantage of it.

One excellent aspect of NordVPN is the variety of additional tools it provides for improving your privacy.  They provide direct access to the Tor anonymization network. This makes it even harder to trace your connection, and it lets you access hidden websites, though at greatly reduced speeds.

NordVPN also supports multihop connections, which it calls Double VPN. This routes your connection through a second VPN server instead of just one. That way, if one leg of the connection is somehow compromised, you can rest assured that your connection is still secure.

And a new feature for NordVPN is split-tunneling. This lets you assign which apps route their traffic through the VPN connection and which travel in the clear. NordVPN takes an impressive approach with this feature. Letting you either allow or prohibit VPN connections for apps.
