MarcoPolo Ocean
The first thing that drew my attention was the stunning color scheme! You have the distinct impression of being on a coral reef. I really like the music that plays on the first page before you press the play button. It transports you to the beach regardless of whether you want to go.
One of my favorite sections is the puzzle area. I appreciate how it provides information about each thing and each component of the object. For example, when you drag the Orca Whale to the appropriate spot on the puzzle, it will tell your child some details about it and will tell you about the dorsal fin, blow hole, pectoral fin, and other features of the whale. You can put together a submersible, a boat, coral, and other other Mammals by putting them all together in a jigsaw.
One of my favorite aspects is being able to get the dolphins to jump out of the water. Isn’t that a lot of fun? My favorite thing about Sea World is that the app is so versatile; your child can use it to swipe down to the ocean’s depths and learn more about those deep, dark creatures. You can even get the submarine to perform tricks while submerged in water. My kid devised a plan to sink the ship and was successful. Or, to put it another way, if you try to sink it, even the people who are watching it jump up when it comes back to the surface. While he was playing, he had us both laughing out loud.
A large number of books to read with your child to reinforce what they have recently learned are available in the Parents area under the more link (see below). I believe this is the first app that I have seen that had the foresight to have a section like that in the first place. It also includes suggestions for “test” activities that can be completed at home.

Which the children will create. As soon as they correctly place a fish in its designated area. The narrator reveals the fish’s name and it immediately begins to animate.
