Tango: Live Stream

The Tango app allows you to tango with up to 50 people at once. Tango is a messaging app like Kik and WhatsApp. Tango bills itself as the “all-in-one” social networking app with a billion features.

Tango lets you make video calls, text chat, send music, and share photos and videos. With over 160 million registered users, your teen has probably heard of or used Tango.
Using Tango with friends who use different devices is possible. If you all have Apple devices, you can use iMessage and FaceTime to communicate. But what if your pal has an Android, Windows, or no phone? No iMessage. Tango is available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and PC. Regardless of your operating system, you can communicate via voice, text, or video. Tango also allows for group chats and calls, a social feature likely to appeal to teens.
I could see the appeal after using Tango. During a video chat, you can send cute animations, play games, and share music via Spotify. Filters can be used to enhance photos and video chats. While adults may just want to text, teens and young adults would likely spend more time interacting with each other via the app’s fun add-ins.
Your Tango profile is always public. This feature uses location services to find other Tango users nearby. If you don’t want to use these features, you can make your profile private and disable Tango’s location services. If your kids are using Tango, check these settings. This keeps strangers off of Tango.
Tango is a free service with optional in-app purchases. During a call, you can send animations to friends for $1.99 each. For $9.99 per month, there is a feature called “Tango Premium Discovery – Chat with the most popular Tango users.” It’s unclear exactly what this means, but I suspect it allows you to chat with users who appear on the “Popular People” page. In-app purchases can be disabled in Restrictions if desired.
