Patreon

Membership Tiers

Most Patreon creators have multiple levels that supporters can join, each corresponding to a certain amount of money. These levels are defined by the creator and can range from $1 to $100 per month. The larger the sponsor’s ongoing contribution, the more benefits they receive. Some of the top-tier rewards include physical goods, their names prominently displayed in videos, and the ability to communicate directly with the manufacturer. Some levels may have a maximum number of “slots” that can be filled.

Also, creators use it to manage higher-level rewards, especially if there are rewards related to creating custom work for top contributors. Also, some Patreon members don’t use the level at all. Instead, they offer the same benefits to all backers under a “pay what you want” scheme.

Patreon members often post monetary goals on their pages, with specific goals corresponding to special content or increased posting frequency. You can also see how many people are currently supporting a creator.

Description

What is Patreon?

Patreon is a membership site that allows creators to get rewarded for their work.

It is a method for creators to get paid for the things they’re already making (webcomics, videos, songs, stories and etc). Fans pay a few dollars every month OR per post you publish, and you are paid once a month or whenever you publish something new. Find out more about being a Patreon creator HERE.

Also, Patreon allows customers to become members of their favorite creator’s community and pay them for creating the content they enjoy. You can now pay a few dollars each month or per post that a creator makes instead of flinging money at your screen (believe us, that doesn’t work).

For example, if you pay $2 per video and the creator posts 3 videos in February, your card charges a total of $6 that month. This means that the designer gets paid regularly (every time she launches something new) and you become a true patron of the arts. That’s right, imagine you, in a long, white-rimmed wig, painted on a 10-foot canvas on the wall of a Victorian mansion. And imagine your favorite designers making a living doing what they do best… for you.

Who uses Patreon?

Patreon is used by YouTube videographers, webcomic artists, writers, podcasters, musicians, adult content creators, and other categories of creators who regularly post online. It allows artists to receive funding directly from their fans or patrons either periodically or by artwork.

Furthermore, the platform has more than 6 million monthly active patrons who financially support creators. 6 million patrons represent 11.37 million individual support commitments. Personal support commitments have increased by 33.37% since June 2020.
